鶹students formerly in care in British Columbia are encouraged to apply to the BC Provincial Tuition Waiver Program. 鶹also offers the 鶹Post Care Tuition Waiver for students from BC who are not eligible for the Provincial program. Funding from either source will apply toward your first undergraduate degree at UBC.
BC Provincial Tuition Waiver Program
The BC Provincial Tuition Waiver Program covers the cost of your tuition fees towards eligible credit or non-credit study if you were a youth in care in BC for a combined two years or “aged out” at 19 years old. You may also receive the to support other educational costs. Find out more on the

鶹Post Care Tuition Waiver
The 鶹Post Care Tuition Waiver covers the cost of tuition fees toward the completion of a first undergraduate degree for students who lived as youth in care in BC for at least one year. Students who are not eligible to receive the BC Provincial Tuition Waiver are encouraged to apply.

Youth Futures Education Fund
The provides additional support with living expenses and other educational costs for students who were previously in government care and are attending a post-secondary institution on a tuition waiver.
Strengthening Abilities and Journeys of Empowerment (SAJE)
The SAJE program can assist you if you have been in foster care or had a youth agreement between ages 12 and 19. This program can provide a range of benefits towards housing, life skills and cultural connections, income stability, and health & wellness while you go back to school. 鶹Entrance Awards
The 鶹Centennial Scholars Entrance Award program assists students who are transitioning to 鶹from secondary school or another post-secondary institution. The purpose of the program is to financially support academically qualified students who show an interest in joining and contributing to the 鶹community, but who would not be able to attend without significant financial assistance.
The for Black Canadian Scholars launched in September 2021 and creates a cross-campus community of Scholars who already bring diverse academic, community involvement and leadership experience. More than award recipients, Scholars participate in a range of programming and support designed for them to thrive at UBC.
