Varsity Athlete and MVP. Appreciative participant in sport. Chicken burger enthusiast.
What are the opportunities for students who aren’t star athletes to get involved in sports at UBC?
are awesome! There is tons of opportunity to sign up for sports like basketball, volleyball, and soccer. It is run by and it is really a lot of run. also offers a lot of fitness classes such as yoga and zumba!
What has been the highlight of your athletic career at UBC?
The highlight of my soccer career would have to be in this past season, where I was able to score 3 goals (2 headers) and a tying goal in the provincial bronze medal match (for a defender — goals are a big deal!). Another highlight would have to be being awarded MVP for the 2013 season and being nominated for female athlete of the year — it truly is an amazing honor.
What is it like to play a home game at UBC?
Amazing! Our fans here at 鶹Okanagan are unreal — they always come out and support us. Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to perform the way we do. The first home game is always awesome — lots of blue and gold body paint and tons of cheering!
How has 鶹shaped or changed you as an athlete?
鶹Okanagan has taught me quite a bit about balance and discipline. I’ve learned a lot about training, practicing, and staying healthy over the past couple years. 鶹Okanagan has given me great opportunities to travel to Vancouver to play and experience the true university soccer experience. The at UBCO are amazing, they are constantly pushing you to be better and train harder, and in the end, they made me the player I am today.
